Isabel was born in Harare, Zimbabwe into a very artistic environment. Her mother makes a living as an interior decorator, and from an early age was encouraged to study music and the arts.
After attaining an A for Art in school, she studied at Central St Martins College London for two years and now holds a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design. Isabel is currently living in Ibiza, Spain.
"What we call 'art' is my natural reaction to life; my surroundings, emotions, good and bad. Zimbabwe is an incredible country, and continues to inspire me even when I am away. Every piece of work I will ever do will have Zimbabwean roots, like myself. When I am creating a landscape it has to involve all senses. The feel of what it is like to be underneath that infinite sky, the smell of the earth after the rain stops, the colours and the sound of Shona and drums, the list is endless....
My inspiration also comes from fellow artists to mention a few; Daryl Nero, Mike Danes, Jenny Burgess, Val Shaw, Gillian Warren and many more.
The future of this ancient country reborn, and my own personal journey is dark, beautiful, a blank canvas and in our own hands. "
