Luke Bezuidenhout

Born 1974. Had his grounding in the "Shona Sculpture" school of 1992. Worked out of the Chapunga Sculpture Park (1995 - 2000) whilst running the Artists Residency Programme and was editor of their newsletter. Thoroughly versed in stone sculpture he worked with Gallery Dielman (Belgium) until he left to join Tapfuma Gutsa at Surprise Art Centre in Shurugwi. Of late he has been exploring alternative mediums and presently works alongside Wayne Stutchbury in Harare. He also curates HIFA and has his work in various well-known private collections. Luke Bezuidenhout's pieces are considered part of the new-wave of Zimbabwean sculpture and his career is to be keenly followed.
