Kate Raath was born in Masvingo in 1949. Brought up on a cattle ranch - which has made her love the bush the way she does.

Graduated from Rhodes University with a Fine Art degree in 1971. Also has a Graphic Design diploma and City and Guilds certificate from Harare Polytechnic (1985). Taught at Zimbabwean Schools and BAT Workshop. More recently teaching design and painting at Harare Polytechnic until 2004. After many, many exhibitions here, South Africa and Italy she is now a full-time artist with works in both local and international collections including Heads of State for Commonwealth Summit members and others too numerous to mention.

A fine painter, much influenced by Cezanne and whose work is much in demand.
