Denny Chamwakaona

Born in Chimanimani in 1979. In a country renowned for its stone sculpture he represents the true wood sculptors of Zimbabwe who don't carve for the tourist market but reflect the people and things around themselves. His figures, at once grotesque and compelling, assume a life of their own eventually that display much character and thoughtfulness in their construction. Dirt cheap now; a worthwhile investment for the future.
